As part of a business trip to Brussels, I decided to take the plane to brave the strikes, and this time it will be with Swiss and Lufthansa for less than 200€ round trip.
Ground experience
As usual when flying with the Lufthansa Group at Paris CDG, I go directly to the boarding satellite. The Airside passage is relatively fast, in less than 10 minutes after the Uber drop-off.
Lounge
Once the security is cleared, I go to the Lufthansa Senator lounge. After multiple reviews here, you are now familiar with this lounge which is often the first stop on our trips around the world since we maintain our Star Alliance Gold status.
Access to the lounge is via two elevators at the far right of the terminal.
Today, the welcome is very cordial and I am invited by the charming attendant to the Senator part of the lounge reserved for Miles & More members and Star Alliance Gold and First passengers. Other High Contribution passengers are sent to the Business lounge.
Nothing new under the sun, the bland decoration has not changed and no windows have been added…
Nevertheless, the buffet beats any Air France Business lounge at CDG and offers hot dishes at all hours, a salad bar, chocolates and sweets.
The choice of drinks is varied (except perhaps for the soft drink), with 3 choices of white and red wines, sparkling wine and spirits of quality.
I will spend a few hours working in the lounge with a few teleconferences before heading to boarding.
Boarding
The boarding starts before the scheduled time and all the priority passengers have already boarded, so I go directly to the gangway.
Cabin and reception
The welcome is cordial at the gate and I enter the cabin of the A220-300. It has a very premium look, reinforced by the grey tones chosen by Swiss.
The Business cabin is 5 rows, and I chose the 08C which is Duo side.
As on all Airbus A220 aircraft, the ceiling lights are equipped with mini LCD screens that display the geo vision as well as the safety instructions in each row.
Service and catering
The service starts just after the cabin crew is released from their seats. Having had a hearty lunch in the lounge, I limit myself to a glass of sparkling water.
The traditional basket filled with Swiss milk chocolates was passed at the end of the flight.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive at the gate about ten minutes late. Since the gate we are arriving at is close to my departure gate, I have a reduced transfer course that allows me to go through the departure course.
Bottom line
A solid flight on Swiss, with a correct service.
