Louvre Abu Dhabi

After a busy day at Expo 2020, we decided to spend a day in Abu Dhabi. The capital of the United Arab Emirates is located about 1h30 from the economic center of the country, Dubai, by car.

Today’s itinerary

Location

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is located on Saadiyat Island, an island not far from the center of Abu Dhabi.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that was raging during our stay,reserving a time slot to visit was mandatory. For our 11am slot, we left the hotel at 9:15am and arrived at the museum on time.

Admission costs around €15 per person, and reduced rates are available.

Permanent exhibition

The permanent collection is very diverse, between local pieces and pieces loaned from the Parisian museum.

Architecture

What impresses in this museum, it is especially thearchitecture of the building, all in concrete lace. Impressionnant.
